Our Founder and Executive Director, conducted a training on 'The POCSO Act' for all staff of programmes under Snehalaya, a non-profit organisation working on Child Rights in Assam.

 Kishori Baruah, UTSAH's Senior Programme Manager, led a session on 'Child Protection' at the 10th batch of the State-Level Training Programme on Early Childhood Care and Education, organized by the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. Of Assam & SCERT; at the Assam Administrative Staff College

 The Annual Range-Level Training for Investigating Officers on Child-related laws was held in Silchar, for Officers from Southern Range & GRP.

DIG, Southern Range & SP, Cachar Police, inaugurated the day-long programme. 

Supported by the Directorate of Welfare of SC & Backward Classes, Govt. Of Assam.

Child Friendly Logo: A Child friendly crayon version of the Assam Police Logo created by a child. The display photograph of all Police social medial handles, was changed to this child-friendly version during the entire Child Rights Week 2024

  On World Children's Day 2024, the Assam Police HQ, CID Office, all SP Offices and all police Stations illuminate in the colour Blue in solidarity with the global 'Go Blue' campaign, celebrated across the world. Assam DGP launched this initiative at the Assam Police HQ, Guwahati

Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program: During Child Rights Week 2024, Child Sexual Abuse victims visited the Assam police HQ and adorned the chairs of the DGP and the Special DGP, Assam

Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program: Assam Police Child Rights Week celebrations 2024: The DGP, Assam interacted with Child Sexual Abuse victims from across Guwahati. The conversation focused on the rights of children, and the experiences of children and their families while coming in contact with the Police system.

Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program: At the start of the Child Rights Week Celebrations of the Assam Police 2024, messages from the  DGP, Special DGP and IGP were published on Assam Police Social Media handles.

 The Annual Range-Level Training for Investigating Officers on child-related laws was held in Karbi Anglong, for Officers from districts under Hills Range (HR). 50 Nos Officers from Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and West Karbi Anglong attended the day-long training Programme.

The Annual Range-Level Training of Investigating Officers on Child-related laws was conducted at Nagaon, for Officers from districts under Central Police Range (CR)

The 2024 Range Level trainings have been supported by the Directorate of Welfare of SC & Backward Classes, Govt.of Assam

 The Annual Range-Level Training of IOs on Child related laws was conducted at Bongaigaon, for 51 Nos Officers from districts under BTAD & Bongaigaon, & GRP; with special support from Chirang DEF. 

The 2024 Range Level trainings have been supported by the Directorate of Welfare of SC & Backward Classes.

 The Annual Range-Level Training of IOs on Child related laws was conducted at Nalbari, for Officers under Central Western Range, & Udalguri & GRP.

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we visited Hojai, Dhing and Nagaon to personally address the psychosocial-legal needs of four victims of child sexual abuse. HOD of Clinical Psychology, Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Dr. Mythili Hazarika, also accompanied our team. 

In response to our constant advocacy, the District Legal Services Authorities, Kamrup Metro, have released Interim Compensations totaling INR 5,25,000 to eight children that we've been assisting, as Support Persons. 

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we conducted a day-long online training of all Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPU), on "Role of SJPUs"; VC Venue: Assam Police HQ

We provided critical legal and psychosocial assistance to a child sexual abuse victim in a case that culminated in the sentencing of three accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment each.

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, our Executive Director and Senior Programs Manager travelled to Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts in Southern Assam, to conduct orientation on "Child Friendly Policing Indicators" for SPs, ASPs, DSPs and Investigating Officers. 

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, the 2nd edition of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Champion Awards were organised at the Assam Police Institute, wherein 27 Police Officers were felicitated for their remarkable work in the arena of child-friendly policing

Women's Rights Activist Anurita Hazarika along with her friends from St. Mary's School Past Pupils Association visited UTSAHs community programme and distributed umbrellas to the children, so that they could safely reach school during the monsoon season 

Our Executive Director was invited by Child Friendly Guwahati (CSO) & Labour Department of the Government of Assam to deliver a lecture on Protection of Children from Child Labour, on World Day Against Child Labour

Our Executive Director and Senior Programs Manager were invited to Tezpur University, to interact with student Social Workers of the  Department of Social Work. 

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, our Executive Director and Senior Programs Manager travelled to Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Sonitpur districts to assess child trafficking issues in those districts

Newly recruited Staff of District Child Protection Units visited the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Resource Centre, which is administered by the Assam Police in collaboration with UTSAH (with support from UNICEF), as part of their induction training

Our Executive Director conducted training for newly recruited staff of District Child Protection Units from across Assam, on the POCSO Act. The programme was organised by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Assam

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, the Jury's Selection Conference for finalizing the winners of the 2nd edition of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Champion Awards was organised at the Assam Police HQ

Our Executive Director was invited as a Guest Speaker to the Royal Global University, Guwahati, Assam.  The topic of the speech was "Role of Media in Child Protection"

We participated in an in-depth consultative meeting organised by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Assam, for finalizing the State Juvenile Justice Model Rules  

Our Executive Director conducted a training for Child Protection functionaries of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) districts on the POCSO Act. The programme was organised by Government of BTR, in collaboration with NEDAN Foundation and UNICEF

Our Executive Director was invited as a Guest Speaker for the INY Conclave 3.0 organised by the Integrated Network of Youth Assam, a youth organisation based in Nagaon District Assam. The subject was Child Protection issues in Assam. 

Our Executive Director conducted a training on the POCSO Act, for women community leaders of Nizdola, Udalguri District. The programme was organised by North East Network (NEN), a leading Women's Rights Organisation of Assam. 

WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY : As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we provided technical assistance to the entire Police Force to partake in the global GO BLUE campaign; wherein the Assam Police Headquarter, the CID Headquarter, 4 Range IGP Offices, 36 SP Offices and 300 Police Stations illuminated in the colour Blue.

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we organised an interactive session from children from children's homes and communities, with internationally acclaimed athlete Hima Das; at the 4th Assam Police Battalion Guwahati

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we curated four educative videos on Child Protection issues featuring Harmeet Singh, IPS, Special DGP; Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, DIG; Sarmistha Baruah, APS, AIG and Geetanjali Doley, APS, ASP. The videos were published on the Assam Police social media handles

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we organised an interactive session, on Child Protection, for students of Delhi Public School, Guwahati with Harmeet Singh, IPS, Special Director General of Police, Assam 

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we organised an interactive session, on Child Protection, for children of Child Care Institutions with GP Singh, IPS, the Director General of Police, Assam. Children from 24 children's homes across Kamrup Metro attended the programme, which was organised at the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program, we provided technical support to Superintendent's of Police and OCs across the State to organise awareness programs on child protection in schools and communities. Over 20,000 children were reached out through this initiative, that is a part of the Child Rights Week Celebrations. 

We collaborated with Topcem Cements to provide stationary gift boxes to Child Care Institutions and Children's Organisations across Kamrup Metro district. This program is a part of Topcem's CSR initiative which is organised every year during Child Rights week. 

On National Children's Day, we were invited by the District and Sessions Court and the District Child Protection Unit of Nagaon District to give an orientation on "Role of Support Persons under the POCSO Act", for Para Legal Volunteers, Education Department Volunteer, staff of District Child Protection Unit and staff of Children's Homes from Nagaon

As part of the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Programme, we kickstarted the Child Rights Week 2023 celebrations with an essay contest, announced on Assam Police' Social Media handles. The top five essays would be published on the Assam Police Social Media and on the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Journal. The themes of the essays are Cyber crime and Child Labour
